Drop an audio file anywhere on the screen, or tap the card to browse. MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A and AAC all work, up to 10 minutes and 100 MB per track. You can drop a new track at any time, even while the studio is open.

Filament Kit listens to the whole track first: it finds the tempo, the beat grid, where the sections change and where the drop is. Then it builds a storyboard for you automatically, so you have a finished video before you touch anything.

These two controls sit under the timeline and do most of the work.

Flavour is the look and the colour. Each one locks the palette and draws every scene from one family, so the whole video reads as a single piece instead of a slideshow of unrelated ideas. Aurora is cool and drifting, Ember is warm and burning, Neon is hard-edged city light, Mono is restrained and geometric, and Prism is saturated and hypnotic.

Intensity is how much happens, from Still to Maximum. It controls how often the video changes and how hard it reacts to the music. Still holds one look for the whole track; Maximum changes at every section and pushes the reactivity.

Changing either rebuilds the video straight away. Shuffle keeps your flavour and intensity but tries a different arrangement of scenes.

On a phone these controls split into two tabs, Look and Audio, so the preview keeps its height. On a tablet or computer everything is on screen at once.

Pitch moves the key up or down by up to seven semitones without changing how long the track is. Speed and pitch are independent: change one and the other stays exactly where it was.

Speed makes a sped-up or slowed edit, the kind that does well on TikTok. The audio is time-stretched rather than simply played faster, so the tuning never moves - no chipmunk vocals, no seasick slow-down. Everything re-times with it: the beat grid, the sections and the cuts. Stretching always works from your original file, so switching between speeds as often as you like never degrades the audio.

If the BPM looks wrong, it is almost always exactly double or half the real tempo. Tap ÷2 or ×2 next to the BPM in the top bar and the whole beat grid, bar lines and cuts rescale with it. Telling a tempo from its own half or double is genuinely ambiguous, even for people, so the control is there rather than us guessing twice.

Each coloured block is a section of your song with its own look. The colour tells you which family of visuals it uses.

• Tap a block to jump there and open its settings: scene, colours and the four feel sliders.
• Drag a block edge to change where a section starts. It snaps to the beat.
• Press and hold in the middle of a block to split it in two.
• Tapping a section offers only scenes from your current flavour, so an edit cannot break the video's consistency.
• The white playhead scrubs. Grab its head above the timeline and drag; playback pauses while you move and picks up where you let go.
• The DROP marker sets where your clips start. Detection places it for you, but grab the pink tab below the timeline and drag it anywhere. It snaps to the beat.

Each section has a single intensity slider. It moves brightness, movement, depth and how hard the visuals hit the beat together, along the same curve the storyboard uses, so a section you tweak still sits with the rest.

Tap the picture icon in the top bar. Add your artwork, your track title and your artist name, then pick a layout: Corner, Center or Vinyl, which spins your artwork like a record. Turn on the OUT NOW badge for release day.

Everything is sized relative to the frame, so one setup looks right in vertical, square and widescreen.

Tap Export, tick the formats you want, then Render. Each file appears as soon as it is finished, so you can start posting while the rest are still going.

On a phone, Share sends a video straight into TikTok, Instagram or your camera roll. On a computer, Save downloads it, and Save all as .zip bundles the lot.

Keep the tab open and visible while rendering. It is faster, and your screen is kept awake for you.

• Spotify Canvas: Spotify for Artists, on the track page. It is silent and loops, which is what Spotify requires.
• TikTok / Reels: post directly. Vertical, with audio, starting at your track's drop.
• YouTube visualizer: the full track as a widescreen video.
• Apple motion art: send to your distributor for Apple Music.
• Stills: the square is a cover art variant, plus a YouTube thumbnail and a banner.

Rendering uses your device's own video encoder, so what is possible depends on the browser.

• Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera or Arc on any desktop: everything.
• Safari 26 or newer on Mac, iPhone or iPad: everything.
• Safari 16.4 to 18: silent formats only - Spotify Canvas, Apple motion art and stills.
• Android Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet: everything.
• Firefox: design and preview work, export does not.

On iPhone and iPad, every browser runs Safari's engine underneath, so installing Chrome there changes nothing. Your iOS version is what decides.

Full support on Apple hardware needs iOS or iPadOS 26: iPhone 11 and newer, iPad 8th gen and newer, iPad Air 3rd gen and newer, iPad mini 5th gen and newer, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st gen or 12.9-inch 3rd gen and newer. Anything older stays silent-only permanently.

The Export screen tells you which of these applies to you before you render anything.

Filament Kit installs like a normal app: its own icon, no browser bars, and it opens offline. Your projects are already stored on the device, so nothing changes about how it works - it just gets out of the browser's way.

• iPhone or iPad: open it in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. It has to be Safari - the Share sheet in other iOS browsers does not offer it.
• Android: Chrome shows an Install app prompt, or use the menu and pick Add to Home screen.
• Windows or Linux, Chrome or Edge: click the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or menu then Install Filament Kit. There is also an Install the app button at the bottom of our home page.
• Mac, Chrome or Edge: same install icon in the address bar. The app then lives in your Applications folder.
• Mac, Safari: File then Add to Dock.

Installing does not grant access to your files, camera, microphone or location, and nothing runs in the background. Uninstalling removes everything except files you already saved.

Rendering still depends on the browser underneath. Installing on an older iPhone does not add audio export - see what your device can do above.

Free gives you every format at 1080p with a small Filament mark in the corner. Nothing else is held back and there is no account to make. The mark appears in the preview as well as the export, so what you see on screen is exactly what you get.

Removing the mark costs $2.99 for one track forever, $29 a year for unlimited tracks, or $49 once for a Founder lifetime licence. After you buy, your files re-render clean automatically.

The file will not load. Try exporting a plain MP3 or WAV from your DAW. Some exotic formats are not decodable in a browser.

Rendering is slow. Keep the tab visible and close other heavy tabs. Speed depends entirely on your device's GPU.

The tempo looks wrong. It will be exactly double or half the truth. Tap the ÷2 or ×2 button next to the BPM in the top bar. Telling a tempo apart from half or double it is genuinely ambiguous, even for humans, so we give you the control rather than guess twice. The whole beat grid rescales with it.

Everything disappeared. It did not. Reopen the app and your project is on the home screen.
